We begin with a drive through the Rif Mountains, passing by the city of Tetouan. To fully enjoy the breathtaking landscape, we will stop to rest at the foot of the Rif Mountains in Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen’s medina has a strong Spanish architectural influence, as it was once part of “Spanish Morocco.” Its square is full of colorful artisanal shops. It also has many rooftop restaurants and cafes, available in the Riads, where you can enjoy the evening with a pleasant breeze and wonderful views.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fes
After a delicious breakfast, we continue towards Volubilis, crossing Ouazan and other Rif villages. In Volubilis, we will explore the Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history, ending the day in Fes. On the way to Meknes, we will stop for lunch and explore the historic medina walls, Bab el Mansour, and the Moulay Ismail shrine. In the afternoon, we continue to Fes to spend the night.
Day 3: Exploring Fes – guided city tour
We start the day exploring Morocco’s oldest city, winding through its alleys and narrow streets. We begin at the Royal Palace gate, followed by the Jewish quarter, where the first Mellah in Morocco was built in the 16th century. We will ensure visits to all culturally and historically significant sites, including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region. We will also visit the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit several cooperatives and then enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the entire Medina of Fes.
Day 4: Fes – Merzouga Desert
The day begins with a drive toward the Atlas Mountains, stopping at the village of Ifrane to explore the famous cedar forest, home to Berber monkeys. We then continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge (where we can stop for photos and local mint tea) to Midelt. Afterwards, we continue to Merzouga, arriving at our campsite for the night.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorges
We wake up and head to a local hotel to freshen up and enjoy a complimentary breakfast before continuing to Ouarzazate. On the way, we will visit Berber villages and the Todra and Dades Gorges. At the Dades Gorge, we will stop at a local hotel for the night and enjoy a complimentary dinner.
Day 6: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou
After breakfast, we continue the tour toward Ouarzazate along the path of a thousand kasbahs, stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival. Then we drive through Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for being a filming location for the HBO series Game of Thrones and movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.
Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou – Essaouira
After breakfast, we take the Tizi-n-Tichka Mountain Pass toward Marrakech, getting closer to the Atlantic coast, where Essaouira, the Pearl of the Atlantic, is located. In the afternoon, we check in at a local riad and then go to watch the sunset from the Murallas (city walls), an experience not to be missed. In the evening, we enjoy a dinner with fresh fish and take a stroll through the city’s peaceful and picturesque setting.
Day 8: Essaouira – guided tour
Today we explore the ancient city of Mogador, a name given by the Portuguese. Considered one of the most beautiful coastal cities on the Atlantic, its medina is a canvas of blue and white, surrounded by long beaches and the ancient walls from the Portuguese colonial era. MOROCCO TOURS FAQS
How many days in Morocco is enough?
The ideal length of a trip to Morocco depends on what you want to see and do. In most cases, spending about seven to ten days is enough to enjoy a balanced itinerary that includes major destinations such as Marrakech, Fes, and a journey into the desert. If you prefer to explore particular regions in more depth or take part in additional activities, extending your visit to two weeks or longer can be worthwhile. In the end, the right amount of time differs for every traveler and depends on personal interests and travel goals.
Can I customize my Morocco itinerary?
Yes, you can fully customize your Morocco itinerary. The itineraries on our website are provided as sample routes, and you are free to adjust them based on your interests, preferences, and the amount of time you plan to spend in Morocco.
Do I need a visa for Morocco?

Best time to visit Morocco
Morocco is a great destination year-round, but the most recommended months to visit are from September to December and from March to May. These seasons offer mild, comfortable weather without the intense summer heat or the colder winter evenings.
Summer can be quite warm, though the coastal regions remain refreshing thanks to cool breezes and pleasant nights. Winter tends to be colder, especially in the mountain areas, but it’s also an excellent time for Sahara Desert adventures. Keeping these seasonal differences in mind will help you plan your Morocco itinerary for the best possible experience.
