Day 1 — Casablanca → Rabat

Hassan II Mosque, Atlantic Coast & Morocco’s Capital

Your private Morocco journey begins with a pickup from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel.

If your flight arrives early enough, begin with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, built on the Atlantic Ocean. Its enormous prayer hall, intricate Moroccan craftsmanship and spectacular coastal setting make it one of the highlights of Casablanca.

After the mosque, leave Casablanca and drive approximately one hour to Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

After checking into your riad, explore the historic heart of the city.

Your afternoon can include:

• Hassan Tower
• Mausoleum of Mohammed V
• Kasbah of the Udayas
• Andalusian Gardens
• Rabat Medina
• Bou Regreg waterfront

The Kasbah of the Udayas is particularly enjoyable toward the end of the afternoon, when you can walk through its quiet blue-and-white streets and look toward the Atlantic.

Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner in Rabat.

Day 2 — Rabat → Chefchaouen

From Morocco’s Capital to the Blue Pearl of the Rif

After breakfast, leave Rabat and travel north toward the Rif Mountains.

Rather than trying to squeeze Asilah and Tangier into the same day, this version gives you considerably more time in Chefchaouen.

The journey takes you through changing landscapes, from the Atlantic plains into the green hills of northern Morocco.

Arrive in Chefchaouen, one of Morocco’s most photogenic towns.

After checking into your riad, begin exploring the medina on foot.

The narrow streets are painted in different shades of blue, while small artisan shops sell woven textiles, leather goods, ceramics and traditional handicrafts.

Visit Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the main square of the old town, and explore the historic Kasbah.

Continue toward Ras El Maa, a natural spring at the edge of the medina.

For sunset, walk or drive to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic views over Chefchaouen and the surrounding Rif Mountains.

Return to the medina for dinner.

Driving: Approximately 250 km / 4–4.5 hours

Day 3 — Chefchaouen → Fes

Blue Streets, Rif Landscapes & the Medieval Medina of Fes

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in Chefchaouen.

You have time this morning to explore parts of the Blue City that you may have missed the previous evening.

This is also a good opportunity to:

• Photograph the blue alleys
• Visit local craft shops
• Enjoy Moroccan mint tea
• Explore the Kasbah
• Walk through the quieter residential streets

Around late morning, depart for Fes.

The journey takes you through northern Morocco’s countryside before reaching one of the country’s most important cultural cities.

Arrive in Fes in the afternoon.

Your driver will take you to your riad near the medina, where the remainder of the day can be relaxed.

If you arrive early enough, take a short orientation walk around the medina with your local guide.

You can experience the first glimpse of:

• Bab Bou Jeloud
• Talaa Kebira
• Traditional souks
• Historic fountains
• Local food stalls

Tonight, enjoy dinner at a traditional riad.

Driving: Approximately 200 km / 3.5–4 hours

Day 4 — Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

Crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains Into the Sahara

This is one of the most scenic and memorable days of the entire tour.

After breakfast, leave Fes and head south toward the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Your first major stop is Ifrane, a mountain town famous for its European-style architecture, surrounding forests and cool climate.

Continue to Azrou, where you enter the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas.

If conditions are suitable, you may see the famous Barbary macaques living among the trees.

Continue toward Midelt, traditionally known for agriculture and apples. This is a convenient place for lunch.

After lunch, the landscape changes dramatically as you descend toward the Ziz Valley.

Stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Ziz Valley, where thousands of palm trees create a striking green oasis surrounded by barren mountains.

Continue south toward Merzouga.

By late afternoon, you reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi Sahara dunes.

Leave your vehicle and begin your camel trek.

As the sun begins to disappear, your camel crosses the golden dunes toward your desert camp.

At camp, enjoy:

• Sunset over the dunes
• Traditional Moroccan dinner
• Amazigh music
• Campfire
• Sahara stargazing

With clear skies, the desert becomes an incredible place to observe the night sky.

Driving: Approximately 470 km / 8–9 hours including stops

Day 5 — Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Sahara Sunrise, Oasis Landscapes & Dramatic Canyons

Wake early if you would like to experience one of the most beautiful moments of the tour: sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Watch the first light move across the sand before returning to camp for breakfast.

After breakfast, leave the Sahara and travel toward the oasis towns of southeastern Morocco.

A stop in Rissani can be arranged to experience its traditional market and historic atmosphere.

Continue toward Tinghir and the Todra Valley.

As you approach the gorge, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic.

Todra Gorge

The road follows the palm-filled oasis before reaching the spectacular canyon.

Take a walk through the narrowest section of Todra Gorge, surrounded by enormous limestone cliffs.

For travelers interested in local culture, this is also an excellent place to visit a traditional village and learn about oasis agriculture and Amazigh life.

Continue through the valley toward Dades.

In the afternoon, arrive in the Dades Valley, famous for its red rock formations, kasbahs and winding mountain roads.

Depending on arrival time, visit one of the valley’s panoramic viewpoints.

Driving: Approximately 250 km / 5–6 hours

Day 6 — Dades → Rose Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech

The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs & High Atlas Mountains

After breakfast, continue west through one of southern Morocco’s most fascinating landscapes.

Drive through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing mud-brick villages, palm oases and fortified kasbahs.

Your first major area is the Rose Valley, particularly around Kelaat M’Gouna.

If traveling during the rose season, you may see rose products being produced locally, including rosewater and cosmetics.

Continue to Skoura, a beautiful palm oasis containing numerous historic kasbahs.

Visit Kasbah Amridil, one of the region’s best-known kasbahs and an excellent example of southern Moroccan architecture.

Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway between the High Atlas and Sahara.

After lunch, continue toward Aït Ben Haddou.

Aït Ben Haddou

Spend time exploring this famous fortified ksar, built from traditional earthen architecture.

Walk through its narrow passages and climb toward the upper section for views over the surrounding landscape.

The site has also been used as a filming location for numerous international productions.

After the visit, begin the spectacular drive across the High Atlas Mountains.

Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, one of Morocco’s most impressive mountain roads.

Continue downhill toward the Marrakech plain.

Arrive in Marrakech in the evening.

Check into your riad and, if you still have energy, take an evening walk around Jemaa el-Fna.

Day 7 — Marrakech → Casablanca

Marrakech Medina & Departure Transfer

Enjoy breakfast at your riad.

Your final morning is dedicated to discovering Marrakech, Morocco’s famous Red City.

With a local guide, explore the historic medina and its major landmarks.

Jemaa el-Fna
The city’s famous central square and one of the best places to experience Marrakech’s lively atmosphere.

Koutoubia Mosque
The city’s most recognizable landmark and an important example of Almohad architecture.

Bahia Palace
Explore its courtyards, gardens and richly decorated rooms.

Saadian Tombs
Discover this beautifully decorated royal necropolis dating from the Saadian period.

Marrakech Souks
Walk through the maze of workshops and markets selling Moroccan handicrafts, leather, textiles, spices and traditional products.

Majorelle Garden — optional
If your schedule and interests allow, you can visit the famous garden before leaving Marrakech.

After lunch, your private driver begins the journey back to Casablanca.

If you are flying home from Casablanca, we recommend choosing a late-evening international flight to allow sufficient time for the road transfer.
